The capital of the Dominican Republic is located on the south coast of the country, halfway between the western border with Haiti and the east coast. The city is the economic and commercial center and a leading tourist destination in the Caribbean. Stroll along the stone streets in the beautiful Spanish colonial architecture and port for a moment back in 1600 Here you will find the symbol of the city – the first cathedral ever built in America, called “Santa María la Menor”, and the first hospital and university. Colonial Museum Las Casas Reales, the castle Alcazar de Colón, which was the residence of Spanish kings in the New World, the first stronghold of the New World “La Fortaleza” and sundial are just some of the unique historical sites that are stored deep handwriting past. Santo Domingo has a course and its contemporary appearance, which deserves to be read. This is a city full of busy life and countless smiling young faces.
